3rd Case Study - Dealing with a Difficult Customer and Legal Threat: A Caravan Case

Numerous Attempts to deal with this case, gather Evidence from the consumer, and communicate just fell flat, Even the lawyer should have known better than getting involved in this case.

Customer Concerns:

  1. Electrical Issue: The customer experienced a minor electrical issue after transporting the caravan from Brisbane to a remote NSW town.
  2. Replacement Parts: The customer claims he needed a new toilet cassette ($450) and an annex ($1400) incompatible with the van.
  3. Electrical Repair: The customer refused your offer to have a local electrician fix the initial issue and obtained a separate quote for $550.
  4. Legal Action: The customer has sent a letter of demand through a lawyer for $2400 (including parts, repairs, and potential legal fees) and compensation for mental distress if the case goes to QCAT (Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal).

In this case the customer skipped so many steps in this process, the situation just escalated then he had to involve the caravan company, and the electrical company in this situation.

How do you deal with this situation now a Lawyer is involved?
